Summary
Helen joined Larlee Rosenberg as an articled student in May 2025. Helen previously practiced U.S. immigration law for over 12 years at non-profit legal service providers and a boutique immigration firm in Northern California. She represented hundreds of clients in complex U.S. immigration matters including asylum, family reunification, humanitarian relief, inadmissibility waivers, deportation defence, and federal court litigation. After moving back to Canada, she completed a coursework-based Master of Laws (Common Law) at UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law to obtain a strong grounding in Canadian law, with a focus on immigration, refugee, and criminal law. She has now transitioned her practice to Canadian immigration law.
A committed advocate for access to justice, Helen has trained legal professionals, delivered community legal education in English and Spanish, and published work on juvenile immigration issues in the U.S. She brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to her practice and is dedicated to supporting newcomers navigating Canada’s immigration system.
