Community Involvement

Maxine’s immigration law career began in 2017 when she joined Larlee Rosenberg as a Case Manager. She remained with the firm in this role until graduating from UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law in 2023, and then commenced her articles with the firm.

With more than seven years of immigration law experience, Maxine has supported countless clients in a diverse range of matters including work permits, LMIAs, complex admissibility issues, permanent residence in all classes, citizenship, and related litigation. Maxine thrives on working closely with individuals, companies, and families to craft practical immigration strategies, always placing the client’s needs at the forefront.

During Maxine’s studies at Allard, she was awarded the Singleton Reynolds Prize in Torts, served as a board member of the UBC Law Review, as researcher for the Jessup International Moot Team, and a member of UBC Chapter of Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers. Maxine concluded her legal studies studying abroad on exchange at LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, Italy.

Maxine completed a Certificate in Immigration: Laws, Policies, and Procedures from UBC (2016) and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria (2010). Her diverse background also includes administrative roles in municipal government and public health, as well as teaching English in South Korea.
